Comida opened in the Stanley Marketplace in December, and we are very happy about that. That great little slogan “taco….a better four letter word” came right from Comida, and I agree. I had the opportunity to ask Rayne Rossello a few questions about her restaurant and being a part of The Stanley.
My first question was what drew her to be a part of the Stanley Marketplace?
“I loved that it was another opportunity to work in a potentially collaborative environment like I have experienced at The Source. The developers and creators behind the Stanley project are a really incredible group of people and have curated a pretty dynamic and talented group of tenants to fill the space. I am a relationship person first… the experience I have had from the Stanley’s inception with the people that are a part of it…. has been very supportive and exciting. And the geographic location and building itself are pretty prime for a development like Stanley. It was hard to say no to… and so I said yes!”
I asked Rayme if she was a native of Colorado.
“I am not a native Coloradan, though having lived here for almost 30 years I am starting to feel like one. I came here from NYC via Florida via Kansas City via Atlanta via Birmingham…. when I got here there was no turning back.”
“On December 14th we opened the newest location of Comida at the Stanley Marketplace. Time has absolutely flown by… and business has been truly awesome! Turns out…. people in Aurora (more easily identified as the greater “Stapleton” area) were ready for Stanley! And we at Comida…. and I would venture to say every other merchant within the Stanley that has opened since…. couldn’t be more grateful!”
What is something you love about living in Colorado, or Stapleton?
“I live in Boulder, up in the mountains a bit at 7800 feet elevation. I drive a lot. But when I come home, when I turn up my road and start gaining elevation…. everything else melts away. The fresh air, sun rises and sun sets and the fact that when I have a day off I can walk right out my door and go for a hike… that does it for me.”
Comida offers simple, authentic small plate dining at itʼs unpretentious best.
Comida features slow-cooked, authentic, traditional Mexican street food (with just a hint of the South). They offer incredible handmade desserts and beverages using the freshest ingredients and artisanal preparation all served with care.
